Mike Norman

Mike LOVES helping people realize their power to improve the world. The highlight of his professional career came at the closing banquet of a youth program he launched where a 6th grader wrote in a letter "Thank you, I learned I was smart this summer." Once upon a time Mike represented the US as a member of the national San Shou Kickboxing team, and later wandered the halls of MIT for a few years working on a pair of masters degrees that helped him get SoChange underway. More than anything Mike loves to hear from people that want to make a difference in the world and have ideas about what would make it easier for them to do so. So send him an email! When he is not being embarrassed at the ping pong table he's almost always tethered to mike@sochange.com.

Mike is a software engineer specializing in kickassedness and currently building all of the great things you see on SoChange. He also built the Life Expectancy Calculator at Livingto100.com, a site architected, designed, developed and maintined by Mike and Dr Tom Perls. Mike was a technical reviewer of the O'Reilly published book "Head First Rails" and part of an award winning Robot Research Team that built a robot to serve hors d'oeuvres and act as an information kiosk at the American Association for Artificial Intelligence Conference. When he's not huddled over his laptop banging out code, you can either find him dominating on the ping pong table or gripping it and ripping it on the golf course.
